This look of the world isn’t new. I don’t know about you but when it comes to things like where are the minerals, this is info that I studied at school in history (about who had it and who wanted to take it) and in geography, where is it and how does it fit into the value chain.
Of course things change and the medium’s change. It would be great for time to have a repository, like a gazetteer which allowed you to see the minerals and manufacturing and then had the ability to do Boolean queries and look at political affiliations, stability of government, religion and so on.
Also things like employment, migration, ethnicity. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of school children today would find the essential educational topics very interesting, if able to use their generation’s technology to explore it.
