I like it. When I was in Amsterdam in 2007 for a location based services conference I asked about GPS on the Dutch Trains. I was told that when they suggested installing them, they were threatened with a national engine driver strike. Seems the drivers don’t like their trains tracked. An app that allows people to identify which train they are on, as the story says, only requires a few people to use it.
Obviously there are some geofencing requirements to make sure the app knows when you are no longer on a train, but otherwise it sounds like a pretty simple idea that could be used internationally on all forms of public transport.
